Description
Built in 1877 of blue and yellow brick (on the site of a Sunday School built in 1861) of blue and yellow brick. <1>
Inscription reads "Let the inhabitants of the Rock sing". <2>
"By 1835 The Rock had regular Primitive Methodist preaching. A small plain chapel (on the left in this picture) built of brick was erected in 1861. This was replaced by a larger polychrome brick chapel (on the right) built in 1877. The old chapel then became a Sunday school. The chapel was still in use in 2002." © Janice Cox, 2017. <3>
