Full description
Gun point is marked on current OS maps (b2). A battery is said locally to have been sited here in Napoleonic times but a site visit revealed that the present features are those of the Padstow Volunteer Coastal Artillery Battery of the 1860s and several Second World War emplacements (h1). WW2 features, including gun platforms and a concrete building are visible on air photographs (p1-4). The site is recorded as AH 185 in the Defence of Britain project.
