Epitaph: fine acrostic in Talaton Church

If ever vertues all in one were found
Of all this one doth yield that rare compund,
Humble, wise, grave, loving, soul-curing Leache
Not only taught to live, but lived to teach

Leache was lampe burning and shining bright
Emptyinge himself to lend the world his light.
All-eating death determining to end it
Caught of mortality and so did mend it.
Himself doth more himself surpassed by farre,
Earth lost a lampe, Heaven finds a glorious starre.
