Radford, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV18671.

The tremayne monument was erected in 1588 to commemorate edmund and richard tremayne, twins andrew and nicholas (died 1563) and roger tremayne (died 1572). Inscription (radford).

Chancel has two restored sedilia + piscina. C19 pews, pulpit + reproduction font. C19 mosaic reredos of last supper. Two memorials survived fire; one to tremayne brothers erected 1588, rebuilt 1707 + other, a monument to hugh fortescue who died in 1650 and wife. Swete recounts in 1793 a history of two of the tremayne brothers who were identical twins and described the monument (dyer + manning).

Parish church. Late c14/early c15, porch sundial dated 1695, tower west door dated 1806, 1841 restored by foster of plymouth. Church restored 1876, new organ of 1876, church destroyed by fire in 1877, only the tower was saved. All rebuilt in 1877. Mixed slatestone coursed rubble, squared granite porch, granite dressings, slate roofs with raised coped verges, crestings and cross finials. West tower, nave, north and south aisles, south porch, chancel. Mainly perpendicular style of rebuilding. See doe list for full details (doe).
