Summary : A Roman milestone of the Emperor Numerian (AD 283-4) was dug up, not long before 1800, from the foundation of the north wall of Magna (SO 44 SW 3). The milestone is now in Hereford Museum.
More information : The Roman milestone, dug up, not long before 1800, from the foundation of the N wall of MAGNA (SO 44 SW 3) was placed in the farmyard of the Old Wier, and is now in Hereford Museum. The inscription (see illus) is said to be the only one in Britain with the name of Emperor Numerian (AD 283-4). (1-4)
