More information : [NY 7566 6764] Fragment of a round-headed tombstone (Roman Inscriptions of Britain No.1641) seen about 1877 and rediscovered in 1946 in the second course of the south face of Hadrian's Wall on Peel Crags to the west of Cat Stairs and about 40 yards east of Turret 39a. Still in position. The inscription consists of a swastika and the letter D. (1)

The stone is still in situ, now in the third exposed course of the south face of the Wall; the swastika is quite clear. (3)
