More information : [NZ 15724716] Roman altar found (AD 1893) [TI]. (1)(2) 1074 Altar with flat top, 24x54" (1/12), with socketed base, 30x9" found in 1893 about 270 yds NNW of Lanchester fort. On left side knife, jug; on right patera disk; the carving of the capital is continued on the sides. Now in the south porch, Lanchester Church. Drawn by RGC 1926.
