Summary : Roman silver statuette of Mars found in the bed of the Foss Dyke at Saxilby. It was found before 1774 and carries an inscription of around AD150.
More information : Roman silver statuette of Mars found in the bed of the Foss Dyke at Saxilby. In the British Museum (1). Provenance is usually given as Torksey (2). [See SK 87 NE 12 and 13 for other Roman finds from Saxilby.] (1-2) This statuette was found before 1774. It carries an inscription c. A.D.150 and is of bronze. (3-4)
