Summary : An Inscribed Romano British Funerary Slab of early 3rd century date was found at Watercrook in 1688 and was later built into a barn. It is now in the British Museum.
More information : An inscribed slab of a Roman funerary monument (to
P Aelius Bassus), broken, was found at Watercrook (Name: SD 5150
9051) in 1688 and later built into a barn; it reached the BM in
1913 via the Kendal Museum. Now in the BM.(1)
A reference in it to joint emperors dates it to the early 3rd
