Summary : Original building of Old Royal Observatory. Designed in 1675 by Sir Christopher Wren, it housed the Royal Observatory until 1948.

Flamsteed House was designed by Christopher Wren and constructed in 1675-6. It is square in plan with an octagonal room on the upper storey. In 1772-3 two pavilions were added. The material for the original part of the building are thought to have come from a stock at Tilbury Fort and a gatehouse from the Tower of London (2-3)
