More information : A 1397m long linear section of Roman Road 28b is visible as a cropmark and an earthwork on air photographs. It is centred at SE 4363 3965.
The agger is visible as an earthwork on early photographs (1946 RAF's), however there are also ditches running along either side of the agger that are only visible as cropmarks. The agger is 21m wide and the ditches are 2m wide.
There are associated features (field boundaries, enclosures, etc.,) of a possibly contemporary date recorded in SE 43 NW ?? (1-2) |
