HAYLE SW 53 NE 4/64 Wheal Alfred Farmhouse - GV II Farmhouse and adjoining cottage, now one house. Circa 1800. Slatehanging to house front, otherwise painted rubble. Grouted scantle slate roof sweeping lower at rear. Brick chimneys over the gable ends and over party wall towards left. External stack far left. Plan: Double depth plan with integral rear outshut. House, right, has 2 rooms at the front with former central entrance hall part of right-hand room since early C19, stair hall behind flanked by shallow service rooms. Main doorway is now former back doorway, left of stair. Cottage, left, probably added circa early C19 is one room plan with former entrance lobby on the right. Exterior: 2-storeys. Overall 4 window front; symmetrical 3 window slate-hung. Overall 4 window front; symmetrical to former central doorway and cottage, left with one window over doorway. C20 door. Circa late C19 4-pane horned sashes. Interior: Mixture of circa 1800 and circa early C19 carpentry and joinery including early C19 window shutters to right-hand room. Little altered since.
