Details

HAYLE SW 53 NE Treglistian Farmhouse 4/61 - II GV House. Circa early C18. Coursed faced granite rubble at the front, otherwise painted rubble. Steep hipped grouted scantle slate roof sweeping lower over rear outshut. Modillioned eaves cornice at the front. Plan: Double depth plan with 2 rooms at the front flanking an entrance hall leading to a projecting stair tower and service rooms within integral outshut at either side. Exterior: Later lean-to at left-hand side. 2-storeys plus attic over basement. Nearly symmetrical 3 window west front with doorway central to fenestration. C18 6- panel door with later glazed top panels. Circa late C19 4-panel horned sashes in original openings. Rear has tall central stair tower with hipped roof. Interior: is virtually unaltered since built and has most of its original features including some moulded ceiling cornices ; moulded dado panelling and niches (left- hand parlour) ; 4-panel doors (with 2 small panels immediately under the lock rail and large panels at top and bottom), dog-leg closed-string stair with column-turned balusters and moulded handrail with square newel caps ; some window shutters ; heavy ceiling beams in rear rooms and probably original roof structure (not inspected).
