HOUGHTON HOUGHTON LODGE SU 33 SW 4/31 Pair of lodges 100m W of Houghton Lodge II

Pair of lodges with fences and gates between. Early C19. Brick, fishscale tiles, cast-iron fence and gates and piers. Symmetrical arrangements of central gates each side 2 bay single storey lodges facing drive with projecting porch at road end. From corner of porch on road end quadrant wall and fence. Road end elevation has pointed Y-tracery. Gothic window above, stucco quatrefoil around recess. Carved bargeboard. Gabled porch has pointed archway to front and bargeboard, 4-centres arch on sides. Inside studded plank door. Recessed panel or 2-light casement in other bay. Central carved stack and decorated ridge tiles. Gates between are central carriage gates with pedestrian gates either side with 4 octagonal cast iron piers.
