GV II

Terrace of dwellings, now hotel and flats. 1873. Stucco over brick, roof concealed behind balustraded parapet. Plan: freestanding terrace of 4 units. 4 storeys plus attic and basement, 3 bay units; mixed fenestration to attic, sash windows without glazing bars ground floor, otherwise French casement windows; bracketed cornice, moulded string to third floor linking 3-window canted bays risings through 3 storeys, pedimented heads to third floor windows, segmental to second floor, wrought-iron balcony to second floor carried on cast-iron columns, similar balcony to first floor carried on shaped brackets and returned around the roofs of the porches, rusticated ground floor with alternate plain and vermiculated blocks, arch-head window openings with keystones and ornamental blind boxes; flat-roofed Doric porches, single in outer bays and pair to centre, panelled doors with sidelights and fanlights approached by flights of steps; cast-iron railings returned from entrance along street frontage.
