This above forms part of an account of five vessels lost at Scilly as described in this issue of LL., which agrees with the account in a subsequent issue: `Capt. Campbel, from Belfast, says there was five vessels lost at Scilly in the late gale.' (2)
The date of loss has been expressed as the date of the gale itself, 24-DEC-1787, as given in the account of the DUKE OF CORNWALL (q.v.).
