Summary : The Premonstratensian Abbey at Barlings was originally located at what was later Barlings Grange. It moved to the site of Oxeney Island shortly after its foundation in 1154-5, (see TF07SE5). see also TF 07 SE 1 for an alternative location of the earliest monastic foundation.
