Summary : Site of Second World War heavy anti aircraft battery ZS13 at Coombe Park, Shirley Park, Croydon. It was armed with four 3.7-inch static guns in 1942. It was manned by 99 Battery of the 303rd Royal Artillery Regiment in 1940, by 486 Battery of the 141st (Mixed) Royal Artillery Regiment in 1942, and by 508 Battery of the 160th (Mixed) Royal Artillery Regiment in 1943. It was retained as a Nucleus Force Headquarters Battery in 1946.
