Summary : Site of Second World War heavy anti-aircraft battery ZS12 at Eden Park, Beckenham. It was not armed in 1940 but had two 3.7-inch static guns in 1942. It was guarded by 162 Battery of the 54th Royal Artillery Regiment in 1940, by 486 Battery of the 141st (Mixed) Royal Artillery Regiment in 1942, and by 508 Battery of the 160th (Mixed) Royal Artillery Regiment in 1943. It was retained as an Off-Site Nucleus Force Battery in 1946. |
