HER 14230 DESCRIPTION:-
A small quarry, measuring c.20m across, located within the north-western corner of OS land parcel no.6977. The quarry was first documented, and annotated 'old quarry', on the OS County Series map of c.1882. The date when the quarry was worked is not known. The quarry was omitted from the OS County Series map of c.1902, and from all subsequent OS map editions.
When visited in 1994 the infilled remains of the quarry were visible as an irregular depression, a maximum of 1m deep, under grass.
