Summary of Monument
A bridge over the River Dove, a mill-stream bridge and associated retaining walls; C14 core, widened in the late C19 and C20.
Reasons for Removing the Monument from the Schedule
Hanging Bridge is de-scheduled, for the following principal reason:
* Upgrading the designation base: its significance is more appropriately recognised, and its future management undertaken, through its designation as a Grade II* listed building.
