HER 14397 DESCRIPTION:-

A quarry located in the northern corner of OS land parcel no.4763. A small working measuring c.10m across was documented only on the OS County Series map of c.1882, when annotated 'quarry', it was evidently in use. Field observation in 1994 indicated that the working was more extensive, measuring a maximum of c.100m x 25m. In 1994 the edges of the working were represented by a c.1m-high slope, descending to a flattish base, the area being under arable.
