Description
Summary of Monument
The monument includes a medieval bridge 750m south-west of the village of Lacock, spanning the River Avon on the road leading to Bowden Hill to the east. A causeway (not included) links this bridge with the shorter bridge to the east over a tributary of the River Avon.
Reasons for Removing the Monument from the Schedule
Lacock Bridge, a medieval to C17 and C19 bridge, is de-scheduled, for the following principal reason:
* Upgrading the designation base: its significance and future management is more appropriately recognised through its designation as a listed building.
