Summary of Monument

A C16 conduit house built on the site of an earlier medieval structure that served the water supply for Lacock Abbey.

Reasons for Removing the Monument from the Schedule

Conduit House 50m north of the Church of St Anne is, Bowden Hill, Lacock, is de-scheduled for the following principal reason: * Upgrading the designation base: its significance and future management is more appropriately recognised through its designation as a Grade II* listed building.
