More information : '1430. March 1. Westminster. Commission to Thomas Arundell of the county of Cornwall "chivaler", James Chiddelegh of the county of Devon, esquire, and to John Jaybyn of the county of Devon, and to two of them, to enquire by sworn inquest of the counties aforesaid into the complaint which has been made to the king by merchants of Genoa in England, as follows: being under the king's special friendship and safe conduct they loaded with goods, merchandise and sums of money a certain carrack of Genoa, Antonio Centurionus being padrone, for England, which carrack was lost near the sound (portus) of Plymouth in the county of Devon, and although the mariners and other men aboard her came alive to land, certain of the king's lieges of the said county boarded her and took goods out of her, carried off other goods which were washed ashore as being wreck of the sea, when they were nothing of the kind, to divers parts of the said counties, and refused to make restitution.'
