More information : Small carved stone head found on the surface in 1991 on this steep slope. Stylistically the face with open mouth and staring hollow eyes is thought to be Roman or Iron Age. It may have been built into a building on the plateaux above. Other material from above including Roman pottery and building material has been found in this area. Head is on display at Weston Super Mare Museum. (1)
