Summary of Building
Remains of a post mill, late C17, re-erected in the early to mid-C18, and again in its current location in 1771.
Reasons for Removing the Building from the List
The buried remains of this late-C17 post mill are delisted for the following principal reasons:
Degree of architectural interest:
* the removal of the central post and supports has significantly compromised the integrity of the original structure;
* the remains of the post-mill base are fragmentary and too denuded to be considered of special interest;
* earlier and more intact examples of post mill mounds survive nationally and some of these are protected through scheduling.
