Terraced house incorporating later shop premises, built around 1820 with later C19 and C20 alterations; a 1930s tiled shopfront has been removed.
Reasons for Removing the Building from the List
29 Pembroke Place, constructed in around 1820 with C19, C20 and C21 alterations, has been de-listed for the following principal reasons:
Degree of architectural interest:
* there are no surviving features of special note within the interior and the 1930s tiled shopfront that was the principal reason for the building's listing in 2007 has been removed.
Degree of historic interest:
* alterations throughout and the removal of the 1930s tiled shopfront has not only compromised the building's architectural integrity, but also degraded its legibility and special historic interest as both an early-C19 residence and a C20 kosher butcher's shop with links to Liverpool's Jewish community.
