Summary : Site of a Second World War heavy anti aircraft battery at Derby Race Course. It was armed with four 3.7-inch static guns with GL Mark II radar in 1942. It had been manned by 222 Battery of the 68th Royal Artillery Regiment in 1940, and by 497 Battery of the 144th Mobile Royal Artillery Regiment in 1942.
