Description
Summary of Building
Former brewhouse, constructed in the C17, converted to a Roman Catholic chapel in 1907, and demolished by storms in 2022.
Reasons for Removing the Building from the List
The former Brew House has been removed from the List for the following principal reasons:
Degree of Architectural interest:
* following around 100 years of neglect, the timber-framed structure of the Brew House was entirely rotten and structurally unsound when it was destroyed by two storms in February 2022;
* the surviving timber framing cannot be used structurally, and any rebuilding would only result in a facsimile of the original.
