HER 1851 DESCRIPTION:- 1930? - Find of Roman pottery at the site of the new Gloucester Co-Operative Society Building, probably that at 44 Eastgate Street. Finds of Roman pottery from the new Co-Operatice Society Building. These are probably associated with the 1930 watching brief on the development site, although this is not recorded. Finds include: Samian bowl, form 29, Vespasian Samian dish, form 35 Samian cup, form 33 (x2) Samian cup, form 27 Samian platter, form 15 Samian bowl, form 29, Vespasian Ampulla Glevumware flagon, burnished buff paste, mica dusted {Sourcework 12821}. |
