Summary : An elaborate Grotto designed by Josiah Lane in 1792, situated north east of Old Wardour Castle in Wardour Park. It is constructed of limestone and comprises several entrances on different levels and rock tunnels.
More information : Grotto in Wardour Park. Constructed on the hillside opposite the 16th century NE doorway of the castle. Designed and constructed in 1792 by Josiah Lane. Grade I. (1) Grotto constructed by Josiah Lane in 1792, and is situated on a bank northeast of Old Wardour Castle, near the bailey wall. It comprises a number of entrances, on different levels, and rock tunnels within the interior. Grade I. (2)
