2007 - This area was mapped as part if the English Heritage Leadon Valley NMP Project:
A Post Medieval gravel pit is visible on aerial photographs. The pit is on the summit of Limbury Hill. The quarry is sub-rectangular and measures 54m long by 20m wide and orientated east/west. The gravel pit is marked on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey Map (1884) and is still visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in 1970. {Source Work 4249.}
