HER 306 DESCRIPTION:- See also 304-7 & 584-92 A ring-ditch shows as cropmark (pers comm R Hingley, GCCAS, 1983). {Source Work 449.} At SP 2100 0003, there is a 170ft diameter circle which is crossed by the ditch of a track (SMR 305) almost certainly cut when a mound survived inside the circle. Another slightly smaller circle (SMR 307) is visible immediately to the east. {Source Work 862.} This ring-ditch formed part of large cropmark complex and was one of at least five small henges and/or ring-ditches in the vicinity (SMRs 304, 307, 313, 585) of Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age date, which together with the cursus (SMR 316) form an important ceremonial complex. {Source Works 902 and 2873.} AREA MANAGEMENT :- SAM457 + SAM413 =SAM413 23-12-85 {Source Work 2873.} 1993 - This area was mapped at 1:10,000 scale as part of the English Heritage: Thames Valley NMP project. A probable Bronze Age round barrow can be seen as cropmarks on aerial photographs. This is a circular enclosure, diameter 50m, defined by 1 ditch, centred at SP 2100 0003 (Morph No. TG.58.17.1).
