More information : "Fragment of prehistoric camp found at Robin-a-Tiptoe Hill" (1)
Topographically this hill is most suitable for the construction of a defensive earthwork of considerable stature, but extensive perambulation revealed no traces of artificial works other than a slight ptough headland. (2)
SK 773045. Quadrilateral enclosure, defended by a bank and ditch, on the top of Robin-a-Tiptoe Hill. The enclosed area is parallelogramoid in shape, approximately 300m by 200m, thus enclosing roughly 4.5ha. The bank stands up to l.5m high in places, and there is an entrance set centrally to the west. (3) The date of the earthwork is not known: the area is under permanent pasture and no distinctive finds are known from the site. It may be an unfinished Iron Age hillfort. (4)
