Summary : Excavations uncovered a Roman building, possibly a courtyard villa with a hypocaust. Late 2nd/early 3rd century pottery was found. It may be the main dwelling to the farm complex (SK 90 NW 12) uncovered to the south. Iron Age features and pottery were uncovered in adjacent fields. |

Dwelling of tripartite plan, seemingly the "farm-house" connected with farm buildings to the south of the River (SK 90 NW 12). Quantities of painted plaster and a hypocaust system point to its quality. Recent work in adjacent fields has disturbed several Iron Age features and associated pottery. (3)
LE 30 Listed as the site of a Roman villa. (4) |
