Summary : Dominican Friary founded pre-1238, dissolved 1539. The Dominicans settled in Silvergate outside Pottergate before 1238. They rebuilt their church, and it was consecrated in 1311. During the building of the Technical College in 1931 the foundations of an apsidal building were discovered which may have been part of the friary chapel. |

The Dominicans settled in Silvergate outside Pottergate before 1238. They rebuilt their church, and it was consecrated in 1311. The house was surrendered in 1539. During the building of the Technical College [SK 97907146] in 1931 the foundations of an apsidal building were discovered which may have been part of the friary chapel. (2-4)
