Summary : A very slight cropmark that is visible on one historic air photo may indicate the remains of a Roman road that is projected to run in the same alignment.
More information : A very slight cropmark that is visible on one historic air photo may indicate the remains of a Roman road that is projected to run in the same alignment. This possible section of the Egremont to Carlisle Roman road is visible to the north of Frizington Park. It is visible over a distance of 158m in a south-west to north-east orientation and appears to underlie medieval or post medieval ridge and furrow (UID 1576118). (1)
