Roman Villa: site "where mosaic or tessellated pavements are recorded without description" (5)
[Area centred SP 79409163] Along the north side of the railway, in the second field from the road, a Roman coin (now lost?) was found some years ago and pieces of mortar have been found in a badger-scrape. I do not know the name 'Alderston' but this must be the area where the earlier finds were made. (6)
Nothing of significance was seen in the area indicated which is now a pasture field. (7) |
