More information : [TF 15750958] St. James's Ch. [TU] (1) The church of Deeping St. James was the conventual church of the small Benedictine Priory, [TF 10 NE 5]. The tower and spire date from 1717, the remainder of the fabric is Norman to Perpendicular. (2-3) In normal use. (4) A Church of St James - Grade A. 18C square tower & spire, ashlar. 13C. S. porch. Late 12C S. arcade, arcaded triforium above. 14C S. aisle. Early 13C chancel. Fine early 13C arcaded round font. Two recumbent effigies of the 13 & 14C. (5) Church of St James. Former Benedictine priory, now parish church. Grade 1. (6)
