More information : [TF 50095913] Northolme Manor H ouse on site of Northolme Manor House [G.T.] Moat [G.T.]. (1) Northolme House, Wainfleet, was built in 1866 on the site of the Elizabethan moated mansion or manor house, supposed to have been built in 1549. The moat is double and irregular in its line. It carries on as a single ditch and bank under and beyond the Skegness Road. [See also TF 45 NE 7 for site of church and possible lost village of Northolme.] (2-4) The house, as described above, is correctly named Northolme Hall. There is no true moat, but an old, double waterway (see TF 55 NW 2 for probable mill mound) connected with modern drainage; Resurveyed at 1/2500. Adjacent grass fields show a few minor field banks but no evidence of desertion. (5)
