| Summary : Benedictine Alien Cell at Panfield. The manor was granted by Waleran fitz Ranulf about 1070-77 and it became a priory of monks attached to St Etienne at Caen. In the reign of Henry II it had three monks and a prior. It then seems to have been partly depopulated about 1275. The priory was sold in 1413 and granted, in 1472, to Christ Church, Canterbury. Traces of the foundations lie in the field to the north of Great Priory Farm. |

No extant remains of the priory visible on the surface. The site is located on a sand and gravel outcrop which has been disturbed by later digging.
