Summary : Landscape park, deer park, pleasure grounds and terraced gardens to Powderham Castle covering an area of 250 hectares. The deer park was landscaped in the mid 18th century. By the late 18th century the park had been extended and the pleasure grounds remodelled. The formal terraced gardens were developed from 1836 by Charles Fowler and may have been based on plans designed by William Sawrey Gilpin.

Powderham Park deer park, covering an area of about 280 acres, is fenced by iron railings and has a natural and artificial water
supply. It is owned by the Earl of Devon. (2)
