Summary : A stone hammer and a Bronze Age palstave were found about 1.5 miles southwest of the stone circle on Turton Heights (SD 71 NW 2) on a part of Smithills Deane, called Egbert Dean, in circa 1811. SD 61 NE 3 (palstave) and 4 (hammer) are probably duplicates of this record.

Egbert Dean is centred at SD 6812 on OS 6" 1845. No further
