Summary : Willesden Junction railway station, opened 1st September 1886, was where the West London and North and West South Junction diverged and where the Hampstead Junction threw two connections across the main line to join them. Low-level platforms were provided as well as high-level ones on both connections. The two groups of high-level platforms were quite separate, and from each was a thirty minute service to the City. On 12 August 1894 a rebuilt station was opened with a single group of high level platforms. In 1915 the station became part of the Underground network when it began to serve trains on the Bakerloo Line. |
