More information : An RCHME 1:2500 scale, level 3 air photographic interpretation survey (Event UID 936869) was carried out on this monument in January 1992. The feature (SU 11526691) was seen as a crop mark suggestive of a large sub-circular enclosure on a single oblique photograph in a field much disturbed by various agricultural activities. In spite of this it did not appear to be the result of modern activity. It would appear to measure some 43m across, and the similarity in size with other features (SU 16 NW 70, 134, 137) thought to be potentially of Neolithic date means that this could also date from such a period. Within the circular ditch there is an unusual three sided rectilinear ditched feature, the relationship of which, if any, to the ring ditch is entirely unclear. No judgement should be made as to the date or function of either feature, purely on the grounds of such limited evidence. The archive created by this project (Collection UID 936807) is held by RCHME.
