Summary : Dollis Hill was opened by the Metropolitan Railway on 1st October 1909 and was rebuilt by the same company in the 1930s. The station became part of the Bakerloo line in 1939, when the London Passenger Transport Board opened a new section of twin tube tunnels between Baker Street and Finchley Road creating a branch to Stanmore. The station opened to Bakerloo line trains on 20th Novermber 1939 with the station ceasing to serve Metropolitan line trains the following year. The stations role as a Bakerloo line halt came to an end in 1979 when, on 1st May of that year, Dollis Hill became an intermediate station on the new Jubilee line.
