Summary : A flint arrowhead, a flint scraper and microliths have been found in the BAcup Moor and Knowl Hill area.
More information : At a meeting of the Society on March 31st, 1885,
Mr G.C Yates exhibited: "A beautifully - worked flint arrow head,
in perfect condition, and a flint scraper, found by him on a
recent ramble over the moors, near Bacup. It was found in situ in a
place from which about eight feet of turf had been taken." (1)

Wymer lists some 967 microliths found 'in the Bacup area', including Knowl Hill and circa 10 others, held by Mr Chew and the Bacup NHS.(2)
