More information : Dried-up former fishponds of the medieval Priory (parent record NRHE 104909) are visible as a series of ditched earthworks on lidar images and parchmarks on aerial photographs. They are located at approximately SO 2543 4444 to the SW of the former Priory site, and consist of three long rectangular ponds connected by channels that carry water from the Hardwicke Brooke at either end. The two largest ponds average at roughly 60m by 18m and are closely arranged perpendicular to each other. The third pond is smaller, roughly 20m by 45m, and situated roughly 20m to the NW, connected by a slim ditched channel. (1-2) |
