| Summary : An embanked avenue of probable Post Medieval date seen on air photographs as the slight earthworks of two parallel banks. The avenue appears to be aligned on the south-facing building range at Scaleby Castle. It runs in a NNW-SSE direction in the parkland immediately outside the moat. |
| More information : An embanked avenue of probable Post Medieval date seen on air photographs as the slight earthworks of two parallel banks. The avenue appears to be aligned on the south-facing building range at Scaleby Castle. It runs for approximately 150m in a NNW-SSE direction across the parkland immediately outside the moat. The banks are defined by a ditch on their outer sides; that on the west side appears to have been recut, probably for drainage, which has slightly reduced the width of the western bank. (1) |
